Inspiration for the daily journal kit

Hi all..

So here's the inspiration if you want to, how I use the daily art journal kit.

You know my scrapbooking is not all about the products, but for the memories and stories of daily life that's happening and also the photos. It's because I want to pass the stories to my children, and memory's is fickle. You tend to forgot daily stuff (which is life), and only remember the big events.

So I took part of this record your week, to take photos and journal them. From Sunday to the next Sunday I took photos from my iphone (love the iphone app photos) and print them, and then journal about my week.

Here's some of the layout:

The cover

using washi tape to write on (the right page)

washi tapes on the left page, and the right page: exclusive doily stitched on paper

another washi tapes, and also stitched page on the right

right side: stitched and punched doily paper on paper

That's the art journal. As you can see I do a lot of writing, my own handwriting. Never be afraid of your own handwriting. It adds personal touches, and just write the stories, how you feel, what's happening on your day.

I will not blog for the next 2 weeks, as Idul Fitri's approaching and my maids will go back to their own cities.  I need to take care of my kids full time (ergo, no blogging). All the moms in Claire's school kind of complained about having no maids for the holidays... hehehe.. and I thought, we're totally pampered here, compared to other moms living overseas who have no maid at all.

What about you? What are you doing on the Idul Fitri's holiday? Where are you going??

To those of you who celebrates, Happy Idul Fitri! Minal aidin wal faizin!!

Daily art journal

Hi all..

I'm showcasing one of my new product to go on sale: daily art journal kit.

So it's a journal kit, all made from scrapbook acid free papers, and it's personally hand made, stitched, sprayed, so you can create your own scrapbook journal.

It's because I received a lot of phone calls/messages requiring that they want to do the album themselves, so I thought, why not?

Here's the kit: (click the photos to view it larger)

The kit includes all of them, for the price of Rp. 300,000 (excluding ongkos kirim/mail fee)
If you are interested, contact me, the number and email address are on your right hand side of this blog.

All things inside the kit are:
2 cover pages
9 pages of papers
10 exclusive pages, stitched, punched, sprayed.
4 washi tapes
4 ribbons
11 embelishment stickers (the butterflies and the heart)
2 punched hearts
4 journaling cards.

The next post will show what I do with the kit, maybe it'll give you inspirations, and then you can buy the kit from me! he he he...

Brothers and birthday layout

Happy Friday y'all!!

today I'm sharing my layout of my husband's brothers. Here's the layout, all using Studio Calico kit.
This is my first time ever using the kit, and it's a snap I tell you! They are geniuses over there, who's matching the colors and supplying all the embellishments. Since I don't have the eye on masculine stuff, their kit is perfect complement on my paper collections.

And I made another layout for my daughter's friend's birthday at school yesterday... and I just thought, hm.. why not make her a scrapbook layout as the birthday gift?? So I took her pictures yesterday, and made her one. Hopefully they like it... :)

Here's the layout.. using the old MME and new October Afternoon:

The pink dotty lines on the top? Washi tapes!!

I'm happy on how this layout turns out.. Loving it myself.

Next, I'll be blogging about my daily week journal kits..

Kitchenette

Kitchenette is over at Plaza Indonesia, and it's my husband's favorite restaurant.
Everytime we go to PI, he always suggests Kitchenette, sometimes I defer, and sometimes I accept.
He always order the same thing, tomato soup and the Eduardo galette. He likes it because it's a light dinner. He loves light dinner. Not so with me...
I tried different things everytime, because one can get bored always ordering the burger over there.
The food is good, the service though, is excellent!! You will find no experienced, knowledgeable, friendly waitress/waiter everywhere else! Except in Paris or Italy maybe...but not in Jakarta!

You can go there anytime of the day, and they're always full. So go early to avoid line up. That's how good they are...  Do some reservations if you can.

So here's the photos of what we order...

Eduardo galette, ham, mushroom and cheese

tomato soup

enchilladas: my order. it's very filling, cheesy and yummy.

What did you eat over at the weekend??

another layout!

Happy Tuesday y'all!!

Today I'm showing you layouts that I promise to post last week. One of them is mine, and the other one is for my pastor. Can't help scrapping his photo, because the picture is very fun, and I haven't give it to them yet. Need to find the frame first, and then give it to them. So ssshhh... don't tell him yet.. ;)

Here's mine, I'm scrapping my Treasure Women's Conference from last year, and this year's TWC is all sold out already. Did you buy the tickets yet? If you are, you're up for some good time, and great photo op!

I'm using washi tape on the corner of the page. you see the little flower strip? that is washi tape!

And here's my pastor's layout:

Again, the corners, dotty strips? washi tape!!

That's my two layouts! Hope you enjoy them.. I'm in the process of making one from Studio calico kits, and I have to tell you, the studio calico kit is awesome! Everything is color coordinated, it's a snap making layout with it. No need to pull all my papers to match the colour, they already matched them!
And it's totally rad pattern, not like what I have, which is all girly. With the kits, I can make manly layout! ha ha ha..

Layouts!!

Hi you..

I haven't felt this excited making a scrapbook layouts!! I think I have found my style and loving it!
I knew I like simplicity when my eyes are always drawn to lots of white space in a layout.
It's not always everyone's style. But it is soo my style!
It makes scrapping simple, focusing on the picture and the feeling/journaling part, which I love.

Here are two layouts, and I will post with another two more..

I made the layout above for my friend, Clara, who attended the Treasure Women's Conference last year, and I still have the photos and promise her I will give her the pictures. So I'm going to give it to her next Sunday... huh... 1 year after, eh?? hahahah..

And if you can see  the border of the layout, I'm using the washi tape. See how versatile the washi tape is??

This is another layout:

This is another layout I made from my very favorite photos of my second daughter, Ariel. Look how cute she is! She's absolute joy to me, very smiley and cheerful and happy.. not all the time, but most of the time.. :) I think it balances out with Claire, my oldest, who's sensitive and shy.

There goes my two layouts today.. will post next week for more..
And wishing you guys a great weekend!

washi tape inspiration

Happy Monday y'all...

I just want to blog about the washi tape and it's use and maybe inspire you to make your own scrapbook/art project/wrapping using the very versatile and beautiful washi tape.

Here's some of the photos..

click on the picture to view it larger, then click it again after
And, Amy Tan, the scrapbook extraordinaire, is the one who's making me drooling of using washi tape. Here's one of her layout using washi tape:

Did you see the flower motive? (under the hey title and the writing?) and the one below the flower tape? that's washi tape. It's easier than ribbon to use, and gives you instant lift up on your layout.

You can visit amy's blog at: www.amytangerine.blogspot.com

Here are more washi tapes eye candy that I love, taken from pinterest:

And another one:

And this is the last one:

So, if you guys out there come to this blog via facebook, and want to order some washi tape, contact me via sms at: 0817.03330.687

Have a great day y'all!

Travel mini album

Another post that's showcasing some of my project this month:

I made it for commission from my friend, she just went to the states and wanted the photos to be documented. Since I just bought my cinch last month, I decide to use it and bind it for her, so the album will look more like a real album/book, instead of using the two rings.

Two rings are great for adding additional papers if you are scrapbooking your daily life, travel mini album and week in the life. Then, you can add more without feeling restricted in your album. But for album that's finished and you don't want to add anything more, I think cinch binding is perfect!

Here are some of the pages, total I made was 20 pages, which means 40 halaman bolak balik (there's no other way to describe that in english). So not all the pages I posted here. Enjoy!

If you can see closely, this page, top and bottom of the brown dotty strip, am using washi tape as well.

Thanks for reading my blog!
